About

As a self-taught artist based in Salford, my interest in derelict landscapes and psychogeography stems from my East Lancashire upbringing witnessing the slow decline of the working class small towns around me, and exploring abandoned cotton mills and factories on the banks of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal.

Upon moving to Salford 20 years ago, the sweeping regeneration of the city reinforced this idea of documenting social decline and wealth disparity through neglected corners of the city and beyond in their current state of atrophy, before they are inevitably flattened into a ghostly footprint.

I have held very successful solo exhibitions in the north-west and my work has been shown in major galleries across the UK from the RSA in Edinburgh to the Mall Galleries in London.

"The recurring theme of neglect and loneliness runs throughout my work just as it seems to run like blood through the veins of many 21st century Northern communities, giving places a sense of ghostly melancholia".
